Top 10 Best Things About This Semester

I'm currently over halfway done with my second semester of my freshmen year and I've been thinking about the best things that have been going on with me right now. I put together a list of the top 10 best things about this semester:
10. Fashion. I just feel like I have really been on the ball with my outfits this semester.
9. Learning from the mistakes I made first semester... and not making them again.
8. Sleeping in. I never wake up before 8 am.
7. Feeling like I'm situated at my school. I know where everything is so I don't feel like I have to be anxious about anything being unfamiliar to me.
6. Having a set plan for next year. I finally know who I will be living with next semester and I'm so excited about it!
5. Going out on the weekends. I'm actually having a good time socializing with all of the other students!
4. Having easy classes. All of my homework is extremely manageable and I am definitely enjoying it.
3. Boys! It's been a learning experience but I definitely understand the value in my selection of suitors.
2. Living in a single. My room is most definitely my sanctuary. And it helps to have two closets.
1. I feel like I have really continued to grow as a person this semester. It's amazing when I think of how far I've come this year.

The Drips of My Soul

When I open up to people and tell them details about myself, I am giving them a little piece of my soul. It's really a little drip, like a tear, that I am allowing them to mix in with their own souls. Of course, this little drip will never come back to me after I have already given it away, which is why I must be extremely careful when I allow someone to have it. Sometimes these little drips aren't a big deal to me; a little drip here and a little drip there won't hurt anybody because, after all, people give me the drips of their own souls anyway. But when I notice that my drips are continually concentrated in one area, on one person, I become wary. I begin to worry about if they are giving me enough of their soul because I wouldn't want my soul to vanish from giving away too much and not consuming enough. I wouldn't want to lose so much of my soul to the point where it's not even my soul anymore.

I Can't Make You Love Me

Realizing that I can't make you love me
Makes my heart start to break a little
I don't know what your intentions are
Since my planning can't reach that part of you
But I want you like nothing before
And I know I can't make you love me
For I have tried this task in the past
I couldn't learn to love him back then
As another couldn't grasp my own unrequited love
And I know you can't love me
If your heart won't feel it on its own
But I yearn for us to make sense
And for our hearts to be one
I can only hope and pray
That your touches are as real
To you as they are to me
My heart hurts thinking about
The chance that we'll end before we even start
I want you to tell me what you feel
Even if my heart gets pierced
Because I promise I will be strong
If everything falls apart
Even though I don't know
What I'll do if you don't love me
And I don't know how long it will take
For my heart to heal if my love you don't accept
I don't want guilt to build in your soul
When our souls were never meant to be
I will have to pour out the colors of my heart
And hope it works out better than before
I can't make you love me
But I hope you can love me on your own

To Me, You Are...

To me, you are a breath of fresh air
A cup of coffee in the morning
A colorful painting made just for me
A wild symphony going on and on
A skip of my heart beat
An unwavering smile
An exciting television show
A peaceful car ride
A new dress that fits me just right
A warm hug that goes all around me
An exceptional chapter in a novel
A reason to stop and look at the world
A cause of my giggle fits
A secret that is hard to keep
A flashback of when I was a carefree child
A fresh coat of mascara
A flowing wave in the ocean
To me, you are just what I need

Plunging Into The Ocean

Let me keep plunging into the ocean so blue
Deeper and farther and closer to you
Let me plunge into what you and me could be
Though getting hurt is a probable possibility
Let my emotions run high like the waves out there
And let me become wild without coming up for air
Let me cry and wail when the sea knocks me down
But please, please do not let me drown
Because I want the current and my body to be one
So my face can be able to feel the warm sun
Let me be indecisive about diving in
And eventually my walls will begin to thin
It will hurt when the waves begin to get rough
And I know I'd have to leave soon enough
So please let me plunge into the ocean with ease
Because it is not always so easy for me
