you never fit into my poems
because i struggled to find
nice and acceptable words
since you were unacceptable
but now i've let out the monsters
that you birthed into our relationship
the monsters you fed
the monsters you nurtured
when i tried so hard to give
our relationship flowers and birds
your monsters ate all my gifts
so i stopped giving you anything
from my heart and my soul
your monsters didnt deserve them
you didnt deserve them
you didnt deserve me
i let out the monsters
your monsters
and now they're on the loose
and theyre only sticking to you
